Heavenly Consciousness
The Heart Master once whispered: That which exists through itself is called meaning—Tao. Meaning has neither name nor force. It is the One Essence, the One Primordial Spirit. Essence and Life cannot be seen. They are held within the Light of Heaven. And the Light of Heaven itself is concealed within the two eyes.
The One Essence
That which exists through itself is called meaning—Tao
The Primordial Spirit
Meaning has neither name nor force
The Light of Heaven
Concealed within the two eyes
The Guide of Radiance

Today, I, Solara, your guide of radiance, shall reveal the secret of the Glowing Golden Pearl of the Great One.
Step by Step Unveiling
Beginning with this sacred mystery, the rest shall be unveiled step by step.
Working with Reverence
We are instructed to hold the sacred scroll and staff in hand, and work from it with reverence.
The Great One

The Highest
That for which nothing higher can be spoken
The Secret
Using action to attain non-action
The Journey
One must not attempt to skip steps, nor force understanding
The Great One is that for which nothing higher can be spoken. The secret of life's magic lies in using action to attain non-action. One must not attempt to skip steps, nor force understanding.
The Glowing Golden Pearl
The True Nature
Beware the false path. The Glowing Golden Pearl is light. What colour is light? One uses the image of the Glowing Golden Pearl as a symbol.
The True Power
It is the true power of the transcendent Great One.
The Book of Changes
As it is written in the Book of Changes: "Heaven created water through the One." This is the true power of the Great One.
Attaining the One
True Life
Those who attain this One become truly alive.
Even if one breathes, they may not truly live, just as fishes live in water but do not see the water.
Fading Away
Those who miss it fade away.
When life-air is absent, death follows— just as the fish perishes without water.
The Adepts' Teaching

Hold Fast to the Primal
Connect to the original source

Guard the One
Protect the unified essence

Circular Course of Light
Allow energy to flow in cycles

Protection of the Centre
Safeguard the core essence
And so, the Adepts taught: Hold fast to the Primal, guard the One. This is the circular course of the Light. This is the Protection of the Centre.
Lengthening Life

Guard the True Power
Protect the essential energy
Lengthen Life
Extend your natural lifespan
Sacred Alchemy
Apply it to melting and mixing
Immortal Body
Create the transcendent form
Guard this true power and you may lengthen life, and apply it to the sacred alchemy of melting and mixing— to create the Immortal Body.
The Circulation of Light
Backward-Flowing Movement
The circulation of the Light depends wholly on the backward-flowing movement
Gathering Thoughts
So that thoughts are gathered and returned
The Dwelling Place
To the dwelling of Heavenly Consciousness— the Heavenly Heart
The Heavenly Heart
Between Sun and Moon
This heart lies between the sun and moon—between the two eyes.
The Yellow Castle
As it is spoken in the Yellow Castle Texts: "In the field of the square inch within the house of the square foot, life is governed."
The House
This house is the face. The field of the square inch is the brow— The Heavenly Heart.
The Sacred Inch
The Center
In the centre of that sacred inch dwells the Splendour.
The Purple Hall
Within the purple hall of the City of Jade abides the Spirit of Utmost Emptiness and Bliss.
Many Names, One Place
To the Confucians, it is the Centre of Emptiness. To the Buddhists, the Terrace of Life. To the Taoists, it is the Ancestral Land, the Yellow Castle, the Dark Pass, the Space of Former Heaven.
The Dwelling and The Master
1
The Dwelling Place
The Heavenly Heart is the dwelling place.
2
The Master
The Light is the Master.
When Light flows freely, the whole being is renewed. Order arises. Like a holy sovereign establishing divine law, all inner states yield and offer tribute.
When the Master sits quietly, servants move of their own accord, each fulfilling its sacred task.
The Circulation Secret
Allow the Light to Circulate
This is the most profound and wondrous secret.
Movement and Anchoring
Light is easy to move—difficult to anchor.
Circular Motion
But if it is moved long enough in a circle, it crystallises.
Natural Spirit Body
This becomes the Natural Spirit Body.
Beyond the Nine Heavens
This crystallised spirit is born beyond the Nine Heavens. As spoken in the Book of the Seal of the Heart: "Silently, in the morning, thou flyest upward."
This truth needs no other method. Only gather your thoughts to it.
The True Heaven
The Book of Lang Yen
In the Book of Lang Yen it is said: "By collecting the thoughts, one may fly and be born into Heaven."
The True Heaven
But Heaven is not the sky— It is the place where the Spirit Body is formed, within the house of the Creative.
The Spirit Body
Over time, another body appears alongside the physical— A Spirit Body.
The Elixir of Life

The Golden Pearl
The Glowing Golden Pearl is the Elixir of Life

Jin Tan
The ancient alchemical term for the golden elixir

Pure Essence
A golden sphere of pure essence
The Heart's Transformation
The Dependence on Heart
All transformations of the spiritual soul depend upon the heart.
The Secret Charm
There is a secret charm, subtle and exact— Yet so fluid, it requires great clarity, presence, and silence.
The Requirements
Only those with supreme understanding and stillness may hold the charm. Without intelligence and calm, the charm cannot be grasped.
The Great Meaning

1

1
Great Meaning—Dao
The source of the world
Heaven
The celestial realm
Heavenly Heart
The germinal root
Here lies the source of the world's Great Meaning—Dao. Heaven, and the Heavenly Heart, are the germinal root of that Great Meaning.
True Stillness
Perfect Stillness
When one is truly still, the Heavenly Heart reveals itself.
The Primordial Creature
From its natural flow, a primordial creature is born— a being between conception and birth, abiding in true space.
The Division of Essence and Light
1
Unity
Before birth, Essence and Light are one
2
Individuation
When the note of individuation arises into birth, Essence and Light—Life—divide
3
Separation
From then on, if true peace is not achieved, Essence and Life never meet again
The Plan of the Great Pole
Thus it is said in the Plan of the Great Pole: The Great One contains within itself: True Power, Prana, Seed, Spirit, Animus, and Anima.
The Return to Source
Utterly Cool Thoughts
When thoughts are utterly cool
Heavenly Heart Becomes Visible
The Heavenly Heart becomes visible
Spiritual Intelligence Returns
And spiritual intelligence returns to its source, unassisted
The Essence and Light
True Space
Essence dwells in true space.
The Eyes
The splendour of Light dwells in the two eyes.
The Master's Teaching
The Master, therefore, teaches the circulation of Light, so that True Essence may be revealed.
This Essence is the Primordial Spirit. Primordial Spirit is Essence and Life. And when one embraces it, it becomes the Primordial Power. This is the Great Meaning.
The Warning of Priestess Solara
The Warning
Priestess Solara also warns: Let none miss the path from conscious action to unconscious non-action. For the magic of the Elixir of Life uses conscious effort to arrive at effortless surrender.
Conscious Action
Conscious action is this: To set the Light in motion through reflection— thereby allowing Heaven to open.
The True Seed
When the True Seed is born, and the sacred method of melting and mixing applied, the Elixir of Life is created, and one crosses the inner threshold.
4
The Embryo
The embryo is then formed— through warmth, nourishment, bathing, and purification.
Non-Action
It enters the realm of non-action. A full year of sacred fire is needed before this spiritual embryo is born— emerges from its membranes— and passes beyond the ordinary world into the realm of the holy.
The Journey
This path is simple. But the changing conditions along the journey are many. As it is said: With one leap, no soul reaches the mountain peak.
The Return
Whoever seeks eternal life must return to the place where Essence and Life first emerged.
